Everyday look for the Everyday Woman: 5 simple steps for an everyday look!

BEFORE
Noelle wanted a look that wasn’t hard to do, but enhanced her newly reshaped eyebrows. Noelle wanted something she could do every day without looking overdone. The key to any look is to make sure the face is well groomed and mosturized. That’s going to help with the flow of any makeup you put on your face!

First: I arched her eyebrows to open her face up; Before her face looked closed in and older, its amazing what just arching your eyebrows can do for your face.

Second: I kept the foundation {Maybelline Dream liquid Mousse/Black Opal with Clinique facial moisturizer} very light no concealer; for someone that doesn’t wear makeup you do not want to overwhelm the person! I used a blush brush to apply the foundation to her face; this gives a very milky airbrush finish to her face.

Third: I added MAC Margin Frost Powder blush to the cheek.

Fourth: Finished the base of her face with MAC Mineralized Skin Finish Natural Medium deep Powder and highlighting the face with a light bronzer

Fifth: I kept the eye shadow shimmery and using 2 eyeshadows...MAC {amber lights} and Urban Decay {fard & paupieres} I blended them both together. For mascara I used Loreal Paris Original Volumninous Curved Brush Mascara...I LIVE BY THIS MASCARA!

Lastly, added a little Maybelline Shine Sensational Lip gloss with a hint of MAC amber lights Eye Shadow on the lips for color (this helps to bring the look together) And there you have it!

Her Campus Event

This past summer I had a great opportunity to meet and greet with alot of different people in Chicago. One of the more exciting events that I was able to do the makeup for was http://www.hercampus.com/ / www.hercampus.com/uic   Magazine release party! Under the direction of Marissa Govedarica (President UIC Campus) and Tamara Edwards(Vice President), Her Campus launched at UIC this past summer; {HerCampus is an online magazine for the college women of UIC with features on Campus News, Events, Profiles, Polls, and even Campus Cuties! Her Campus UIC is a place for the women of UIC to get personalized information about what's happening on their campus!}. The event was located in the Southport area of chicago at a bar called Sopo Lounge & Grill. There was amazing food and great giveaways, the young ladies really knew how to throw an event.  Marissa is truly making a name for herself as well as keeping college women in the loop on the lastest beauty and fashion trends. As the makeup artist for the night, my goal was to create a "Victoria Secrets/beauty" look on the models. I am a firm believer in keeping a beauty for younger women very shimmery, young women want a look that easy to manage and flawless; essentially what HerCampus promotes .....Highlighting the cheekbones, bringing dimension to the eye, and pouting the lip with a light or netraul liner and shimmer gloss. Sometimes less is more, enhancing someones natural look can be enough, especially on younger women. This can give the seductive, sexy but NOT overdone look that you want without clumping on makeup. If you have any questions about what products i used, please contact me at exclusivebyamber@gmail.com

If you ever have a chance stop by the restaurant and check out hercampus online. Take a look at some of the phots for the evening! You can also follow HerCampus on twitter http://www.twitter.com/HerCampusUIC

Getting Ready for HerCampus Event

5 Simple steps with skin care

The most frequently asked questions to me aren't what you are would expect "how do you put mascara on ...or what lip gloss works the best.." its actually about skin care and keeping your skin healthy. I'm not a certified esthetician but I will say this, keeping a good regiment with your skin is so important. If anything everyday you should be using a acne wash and moisturizer on your face. Scrubbing should be done at least twice a week and masking at least once every two weeks. I know for myself my daily routine consist of:

1. Acne Wash (Warm Water)
2. Astringent/Exfoliate (cotton ball)
3. Eye cream and moisturizer
4. Toning Mist
5.Lip balm
I know that seems like a lot, but I've  seen a huge differene in my skin over the last year. It takes all of 2 min to do this process. Currently I am using Aveda products for steps 1,2 &4. For step 3 Bobbi brown hydrating eye cream and Vaseline Aloe Fresh Hydrating Moisturizer for my face. Finally for step 5 (Nivea milk and honey lip moisturizer), lip balm is important for getting rid of dryness during the fall/winter months.
Having a process with your skin, you will start to see a difference in how your makeup lays on your face.
 Remember:
1. ALWAYS take your makeup off before you go to bed.
2. NEVER pluck before you clean your face, warm water helps to softens hair folicals;so tweezing is easier.
3. NEVER scrub more than 3 times a week, whether oily, dry or normal skin ,dryness occur if scrubbing consist past 3 times a week.
4. Use toning spray as much as possible. If you do not have toning spray, buy a spray bottle at your local store boil water and add a green tea bag to water (put in spray bottle), let sit in refrigerator overnight and then spray liberally on face. This keeps skin firm and vibrant all day. Continued moisture.
5. DO NOT wear heavy makeup everyday. Our skin needs a break, go a day without makeup it helps with pore control. Let your natural beauty standout!

Boys need makeup too...

This past july I did a photoshoot, featuring mulitple female models and one male model. the key to makeup on a male is making sure their eyebrows are well groomed, lips are moist and foundation matches almost perfect with their complexion. Generally men don't need mascara...if you were to use it..I would recommend using a clear mascara and clear eyebrow gel with eyeshadow powder, so that it doesn't look like the model has make up on.To give more definition to the guy's muscles use baby oil and a spray bottle with water in it... take a look....

Just completed a photo shoot....

Sunday was a very interesting day...i had a photo shoot with a very interesting design concept. It definitely challenged my creativity, but it was alot of fun! The Models were awesome, i worked with more of an avant garde look for each model trying to exaggerate facial features as much as possible. The photoshoot was for the Bronner Brother international hairshow, Hairstylist from all of the country compete in http://www.bronnerbros.com/shows/show201008/index2.php to show off the craziest styles in hair and makeup. This is turning into a very interesting journey....its funny the things you first set out to do in life turn out to be the very things that you switch completely away from... i had this big dream of being on the cover of essence magazine as the senior executive or CEO of a major company. As life has taken its course..there is something to be said about expressing your creativity, learning to be free without all of the pressures of corporate life. Not saying i wouldnt go back, but ive never once in my life stepped out and put my creativity before my analytical mind. I feels kinda good...

here are some photos from the shoot!
